Heath Hackett
Heath was born in Greenville, South Carolina to a boating family that called Lake Hartwell their home away from home. The lake house turned into tournament water skiing that took Heath to every man made water ski lake in the South East. While water skiing with winners like Jeff Rogers on his man made lake on a cow pasture was exciting, Heath was always amazed by the Sport fish and Motor yachts he saw when the family vacationed in Charleston.
Heath started working in the Marine Leisure Industry at 15 years old as a boat tech for Marine One in Greenville. That high school job started his drive for a career in yachting. While in college, Heath spent a year at The University of Plymouth, England studying Marine Navigation where he contemplated a career in the shipping industry. The yachts of Charleston sounded more exciting and that's where Heath found himself after he achieved his RYA YachtMasters in England. Heath's first job in yachting took him to the Bahamas for 4 months and the career path was made. While working at Charleston City Marina as a dockhand Heath created Captain's Choice Yachting.
Fast forward 30 years and Captain's Choice Yachting is a successful Yacht Management company that helps clients get the most out of their yachting lifestyle by providing confidence and pride. "I have always known that a boater must have confidence and pride in their boat to get the most out of their boating lifestyle. Confidence in her systems and that she will get you back to the docks safely. Pride in how she looks in the water. This is true for water skiing a man made lake or cruising to the Bahamas in your custom Motor Yacht." Heath is carrying this yachting lifestyle mantra to his next chapter in yacht brokerage.
